Retaking roleplays is a core part of learning in Exec. Each attempt gives you new opportunities to practice, apply feedback, and build confidence. You can retake any roleplay as many times as you’d like - but how those attempts are counted depends on whether the roleplay is standalone or part of a program.

Quick Way to Retake

Open your session details page

Go to My Sessions under the scenario

Select the session you want to revisit

Click "Retry"

The Retry button takes you directly back to the **Scenario details page. **From there, you can immediately start another attempt.

You can also return to the scenario details page anytime and launch a new session without going through the old session history.

Retakes in Assigned Scenarios

If the scenario was assigned to you through a program or a direct assignment:
  • You can still retry as many times as you want.
  • However, whether those retakes count toward your program requirements depends on how the assignment was configured by the program admin.
    • Some programs only count the first completed attempt.
    • Others may allow multiple attempts to contribute to your record.
If you’re unsure, check with your facilitator or program lead to confirm how retakes are tracked.

Why Retake a Roleplay?

Each retry helps you build on feedback and aim for a higher score
Try out alternative phrasing, tones, or approaches to see how the AI character responds
Retakes let you refine your skills until you’re confident and consistent
Best Practices:
  • Reflect first. Review your rubric feedback and transcript before retrying.
  • Target one improvement area. Focus each retake on a specific skill (e.g., opening strong, handling objections).
  • Avoid “gaming” the system. Reading feedback word-for-word in your next attempt may boost your score, but it doesn’t build real skill.
  • Mix it up. Try multiple approaches across retries to expand your flexibility.
✅ In short: You can always retake a roleplay. Use the Retry button for a quick restart, but remember that in assigned programs, retake rules depend on how the admin set them up.
