Certificate Full Pn Certifications in Exec allow you to formally recognize learners for completing training or demonstrating specific expertise. A certification comes with a title, description, and rules around expiration, and once created it can be issued to users manually (today) or automatically (future feature).

Step 1: Check That Certifications Are Enabled

  • Look at the left-hand side navigation bar in your Exec workspace.
  • If you see Certifications, your workspace has certifications enabled.
  • If you do not see it, contact your Exec representative to have it turned on

  • Options:
    • Never expires – Learners remain certified indefinitely.
    • Relative expiration – Choose a time period (days, weeks, months, years). Example: Valid for one year from issue date.
    • Specific expiration date – The certification expires for everyone on a set calendar day.
Once you’ve completed the setup, the certification is ready to be issued!

How Learners Experience It

Learners receive an email notification when they are certified. The certification email includes:
  • The title and description.
  • The workspace logo.
  • A link to view or download the certification PDF.
This gives learners a professional, branded credential they can reference.
Best Practices:
  • Be clear in your titles. Make sure learners immediately understand what the certification represents.
  • Use the description for recognition. Highlight what the certification validates and why it matters.
  • Set thoughtful expiration rules. Time-limited certifications (e.g., one year) encourage learners to refresh their skills and demonstrate continued proficiency.
  • Plan for automation. Even though issuing is manual today, designing certifications with programs in mind will make the transition to automatic issuance smoother later.

In short: Creating a certification is as simple as setting a title, description, and expiration rule. Once saved, you can issue it to learners manually - and soon, automatically through program completion.
